Over the last ten years, I've poured myself into landscaping, hardscaping and excavation full-time.
I've worked on all kinds of projects, from intricate flagstone patios and armour stone retaining walls to boulder features and natural stone steps that blend perfectly with our rugged Cottage Country terrain. Three years ago, I took the leap and started Muskoka Big Rock Landscaping on my own. In that short time, we've already completed countless beautiful projects across Muskoka, Parry Sound, Almaguin, and beyond—each one built with the same care I'd give my own family's property.
Behind the Rocks: Our Story
Hello, Welcome to Muskoka Big Rock Landscaping—I'm Owen Papizzo, owner and hands-on proprietor of Muskoka Big Rock Landscaping.
Born and raised right here in Muskoka, I've never known life anywhere else. The rocks, the lakes, the forests—they're in my blood. My family has a long line of men who've made their living through hard work in construction trades and true craftsmanship: builders, carpenters, roofers and hands that know how to shape stone and earth into something lasting. From the time I was a kid, I was out there with them—hauling materials, learning the feel of a shovel, watching how a well-placed boulder can change a landscape forever. Those early days taught me more than any classroom ever could: respect for the land, attention to detail, and the satisfaction that comes from building something real.

Three years ago, I took the leap and started Muskoka Big Rock Landscaping on my own. In that short time, we've already completed countless beautiful projects across Muskoka, Parry Sound, Almaguin, and beyond—each one built with the same care I'd give my own property.
I've invested everything in the right tools to do the job properly: heavy-duty trucks, dump trailers, equipment floats, excavators, front-end loaders, skid-steers (Bobcats), backhoes, compact track loaders, and a full range of attachments for precise digging, grading, material handling, and vacuum stone lifting & placement. Owning it all means I control the quality from start to finish—no shortcuts, no waiting on rentals, just reliable work that stands up to our harsh Ontario winters.
I'm still young—and I'm driven like you wouldn't believe. I show up early, stay late, and treat every property like it's my own because that's how I was raised. This business is personal to me, and right now, while we're growing strong, you can get the best value in the region from someone who knows Muskoka inside out and pours heart into every stone we place.
